The Boats That Sail Backwards

Sa Layag Ng Bangkang Paurong (Filipino)

Philippines | 15 min | Documentary | 2019 | Documentary Film | Filipino

Alaminos City is known as the 'Home of the Hundred Islands' which is dominated by tourists. This is because of the scarce wealth, culture and scenery found in over one hundred islands and only the bodies of water serve as divisions. Because of the rich marine life that constitutes it, the tourism industry is a big part of it. Milboy, a high school student, has been involved in boating and transporting tourists for seven years to help with their family’s expenses and to support himself in terms of his education. Many people like him come into this job at a very young age that caused them to leave school or get a low grade.
