The film has been Inspired by true events. After being taken from their home in Jacmel, Haiti, two young sisters must escape a child sex trafficking ring, disguised as Catholic orphans. Lalo's House was made to expose the atrocities committed by various motherless baby homes in Haiti during its crisis disguised as such to participate in evil practices especially using young girls as sex slaves.

সিনেমার গল্পটি সত্য ঘটনা দ্বারা অনুপ্রাণিত। দুই তরুণ বোনকে একটি ক্যাথলিক অনাথের ছদ্মবেশে যৌন পাচারকারীর চক্র হাইতির জ্যাকমেলে তাদের নিজ বাড়ি থেকে তুলে নিয়ে যায়। এরপর সেই চক্রের হাত থেকে পালিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য তারা চেষ্টা করতে থাকে। লালোর বাড়িটি তৈরি করা হয়েছিল ওইসব নিশংসতায় প্রতিজ্ঞাবদ্ধ বিভিন্ন বিপদের সময় গড়ে ওঠা অনাথাশ্রমগুলোর মুখোশ খুলে দেওয়ার জন্য, বিশেষ করে যেইগুলাতে অল্পবয়সী মেয়েদের যৌন ক্রীতদাস হিসাবে ব্যবহার করে।

Ms. Kelley Kali

Kelley Kali received her MFA from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. Her more recent work, Lalo’s House, filmed on location in Haiti won the 2018 Student Academy Award for Best Narrative Short Fiction, Silver Tanit Award for Best Short Film at the 2018 Carthage Film Festival, Tunisia and the Programmers’ Award at the 2018 Pan African Film Festival.
